Marvel Snap Rare Variant Complete Tracker
The Rare Variant Complete (RVC) Tracker measures your progress toward owning every Rare-tier variant in Marvel Snap. A progress pill at the top shows how many rare variants you own out of the total released, with a completion percentage. Next to it, a projection pill shows when you are on track to finish, based on how quickly you are acquiring variants compared to how fast new ones are being released. The projected completion date is a premium feature. If you have already reached RVC, both pills display a trophy and "Complete!" status. Below the pills, a chart plots two lines over time: total rare variants released (gold) and total rare variants you own (blue). Dashed lines extend both into the future. The point where the owned line catches up to the released line is your projected RVC date, marked with a gold dot on the chart.
How does the RVC projection work?
The tracker uses three projection methods in a cascade. First, it checks for a supply ceiling: if the gap between released and owned variants has been shrinking and sustained below a threshold for at least 14 consecutive days, it uses your pre-ceiling acquisition rate to project when you will close the remaining gap. Second, if no ceiling is detected, it checks whether the gap trend (via an exponentially weighted moving average with a 60-day half-life) is negative, meaning you are gaining faster than releases. Third, it falls back to ordinary least-squares linear regression on your acquisition and release rates over the past year. In all cases, the final intersection date comes from where the two projected lines actually cross on the chart, not from the algebraic prediction alone. Projections cap at five years out.
What counts as a rare variant?
The tracker only counts variants with Rare rarity that have a confirmed release date. Variants that exist in game data but have not been released yet are excluded from both the total count and the chart. Owned variants need at least a timestamp (from your sync data) to appear on the acquisition timeline. The tracker needs at least two variant acquisition dates to generate a projection. If you have just synced for the first time, the chart shows your current progress but displays a "Not Enough Data" message instead of a projection. As you sync over time and acquire more rare variants, the projection becomes more accurate. A link below the chart takes you to the Variants page filtered to Rare tier, sorted by newest release date, so you can browse what was recently added.
